Shankerpaali - Diwali Faral

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup and for deep frying- oil
  • 1-2 cups maida flour
  • Salt to taste

 

Method

  • Mix the sugar, oil and 1 cup water in a vessel and boil it.
  • When cooled, add salt to it.
  • Then very slowly go on adding the maida flour to it and knead soft dough.
  • Make big balls of it.
  • Now flatten each of them with a rolling pin into round shape.
  • With the help of a knife or a designed mould, make rhombus/ diamond shaped pieces.
