Ingredients
- 1 cup split masoor daal
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 inch grated ginger
- 1 green chilli
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt as per needed
- chopped coriander for garnish
Method
- Soak Masoor daal for atleast 1 -2 hours
- Pressure cook with salt and turmeric powder upto 5-6 whistles. Let it cool.
- Heat oil in a pan and saute onions till dark brown.
- Add in grated ginger and green chilli.
- Now put in the red chilli powder, garam masala and coriander powder.
- Put in the cooked daal and salt and simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
